Armourbite has fifteen years of research and development as well as approval of satisfied Professional, Collegiate, Amateur and Novice athletes. The technology is patented. The performance is proven. The advantages are undeniable.
Your jaw is the key and you can now unlock the power you never knew was there. No one ever told you that relaxing your jaw could help you perform better. That’s because no one knew. Hundreds of years ago, a few people were on to something: Ancient Greek athletes bit down on leather straps for an edge during competition; Viking and Roman warriors clamped down on leather bits for focus on the battlefield. They knew something here worked, but the concept itself never evolved, until now.
Performance Mouthwear has been engineered to unlock your true power and potential. It’s all in you, but blocked by one of the human body’s instinctive reflex systems, teeth clenching. With safe, custom-built Performance Mouthwear, athletes in any sport- from football to golf, hockey to running, yoga to baseball- can capitalize on this innovation that reduces Coritsol (the stress hormone) and Lactic Acid helping to increase a persons performance levels.
Independent studies conducted at some of our nation’s top universities and research centers have proven the undeniable advantages of the UA Performance Mouthwear. UA Performance Mouthwear has been shown to increase strength, increase endurance, speed up reaction time, reduce athletic stress, and reduce impact energy.

Dental implants and dentures are among the services we offer to our Bloomington, Illinois patients in addition to our wide range of cosmetic dentistry services. At Chrisman & Wyse Cosmetic & General Dentistry, we provide everything from basic dental care to extensive restorative procedures, using advanced dental technology for quality and comfort. Whether you need to have missing teeth replaced or a simple routine cleaning, you are in good hands with Dr. Chrisman and Dr. Wyse. Some of the common restorative techniques we offer are listed below.
Patients who have teeth missing may choose to replace them with dental implants, offered at our Bloomington, Illinois practice. Unlike dentures and bridges, dental implants fill not only the visible gap between teeth, but also the empty space in the gum, which prevents gum recession and the shifting of teeth that often takes place when a tooth is missing. Additionally, dental implants are strong, functional and resilient, and do not rely on adjacent teeth for support.
Placing Dental Implants
Dental implants have two parts: the anchor and the crown. The anchor, made of durable but lightweight titanium, serves as an artificial root which is surgically implanted into the jaw. Once the gum has healed and the anchor is secure, a porcelain crown is affixed to the portion of the implant that protrudes from the gum.
Results Achieved with Dental Implants
Dental implants are a popular option among our patients in Bloomington, Illinois because they look, feel and work like natural teeth. They can be used to replace a single tooth or a whole mouthful of teeth. Patients with dental implants should brush and floss regularly and see a dentist for checkups, but do not need any special products or tools to care for their implants. If properly cared for, dental implants will last for years to come.

For our patients who may not be good candidates for dental implants or would prefer a less expensive option, we also offer high-quality full and partial dentures at our Bloomington, Illinois practice.
Partial dentures can replace a section of missing teeth when the patient still has some or most of his natural teeth. Unlike a bridge, which is fixed in the mouth, dentures can be removed for cleaning and left out while the patient sleeps.
Full dentures replace all of the teeth in a patient’s mouth. They are made and cared for just like partial dentures but may take more time to get used to. Patients who have full dentures usually have trouble speaking and chewing when they first begin wearing them. Dentists recommend starting with soft foods that are easy to chew and then slowly working up to a normal diet. Sometimes reading aloud helps patients get used to their new way of speaking.
Care for Dentures
Dentures must be handled carefully. The dentist will instruct the patient on proper denture care and cleaning. Usually, the dentist will recommend wearing the dentures all of the time until the mouth adjusts to having them in — and then wearing them only during the day. Leaving dentures out at night allows the gums to rest and improves oral health.

A dental bridge replaces a missing tooth with a false tooth mounted between two crowns that are placed over the teeth on either side of the space. The dental crowns are cemented to the teeth, fixing the bridge in place. Bridges look like natural teeth, keep the other teeth in a patient’s mouth from shifting, and allow the patient to chew normally. Bridges should be cared for in the same way as natural teeth. With regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups, bridges can last for many, many years. Bridges may provide a cost effective alternative to dental implants or a more permanent tooth replacement option than removable partial dentures.
Dr. Chrisman and Dr. Wyse believe that every patient deserves to have a beautiful, natural-looking smile. For our patients in Bloomington, Illinois who need fillings and would rather not show them off, we provide tooth-colored, or composite, fillings. Unlike metal fillings, composite fillings are virtually invisible. The material will be specifically selected to match the color of a patient's teeth so that even fillings in front of the mouth will not be noticeable. Patients with fillings should have regular dental checkups and practice good oral hygiene to help protect against periodontal disease. If decay continues unchecked, you could require root canal treatment or even tooth extraction.
